Electrical vehicles are becoming more and more popular and accessible to individuals and businesses alike. The government has recognised the huge benefits of electric vehicles and the need to develop existing infrastructure, they have therefore made provision funding through a new scheme, Electrical Vehicle Home Charge Scheme (EVHS) and Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS).
What is EVHS?
This is a new scheme that is government funded to support eligible people wishing to have electrical charging points at their own homes. The grant will enable anyone who has qualified to apply for one (1) charge point or up to two (2) charge points at the same property if they have 2 x qualifying Vehicles. The fund will provide a grant for 75% or up to £350 (incl VAT) per charge point.
The grant is applied for by the EVHS installer after checking the customer qualifies, the EVHS installer will apply on the customer’s behalf for the grant and offset this cost against the final bill for the works carried out. The charger must be installed by an approved EVHS installer.
