Olympic Park 2012 Summer Olympics - Harveys

Winning the right to host the Olympic Games stirred a great deal of national pride for the whole of the UK. L Harvey and Son were therefore very proud to be awarded the contract for the electrical package for the New Copper box,  which was to host the handball, modern pentathlon fencing, and goalball during the 2012 Games.

The Copper Box Arena is one of London’s most flexible indoor venues, with retractable seating for up to 7,500 spectators, this Arena can now host a wide range of different sports and activities including basketball, wheelchair basketball, handball, volleyball, netball, fencing, badminton, gymnastics and much more.

Our team worked long hours while still adhering to strict Health and Safety rules to comply with the main contractors’ site rules. This team and our company can be remembered as part of a legacy that will be talked about in years to come.
